Food from conflict regions – fairly and directly traded /

Conflictfood trades agricultural products from conflict regions that are shunned by other providers and thus effectively addresses the root causes of poverty and migration. The model is based on directly sourcing agricultural products such as saffron from Aghanistan, tea from Myanmar and freekeh from Palestine in the conflict countries and selling them via a proprietary online shop, select retailers and a partner network in Germany. Combined with public relations campaigns and awareness building, the products provide background information about the respective countries, the source of conflicts and the local culinary traditions. Delivered in high quality packages, the products are being sold over Conflictfood’s web shop as well as offline distribution channels such as Manufactum. To scale its marketing and sales activities but also to further build product range and distribution channels, the social enterprise is now seeking to raise growth capital with support from FASE.
