Nowadays, the daily alimentary is dictated by false perceptions of ready-made meals and convenience food. To work against the lack of education, the vegetable school was invented by Dr. Christoph Schmitz.<\/p>\n<p><b>Social impact:<\/b> By deepening the knowledge in cultivating beets, healthy nutrition and the economics connected to it, the social enterprise aims to increase the understanding and skills of food chains, improve the youth&#8217;s health and reduce food waste. According to the German consumer organisation \u201eVerbraucherzentrale NRW\u201c, 11 million tons of food are thrown away in Germany per year, equalling an economic value of EUR 25 bn.<\/p>\n<p><b>Financing:<\/b> After a successful pilot at 20 German schools, the innovative schooling concept secured growth capital to scale up nationwide.
