Growth Capital for LilianCare

Scalable smart practices to secure medical care in rural areas

Societal challenge and market

By 2035, Germany will face over 11,000 unfilled GP practices – leaving 16.5 million people without reliable access to primary care. Already today, 5,000 practices are vacant, while 36% of GPs are over 60. Younger doctors rarely relocate to rural areas, and the share of elderly people with limited mobility continues to rise. The result: large parts of the population risk losing access to basic healthcare.

Solution

LillianCare has developed a practice concept based on interprofessional task sharing and modern technologies in order to support suburban practices for primary care in cooperation with health insurers and municipalities. LillianCare provides employed physicians with practice facilities, infrastructure, technology and a qualified team. The physicians provide hybrid treatment, both in the on-site practice and via video from their home office. LillianCare brings new general medical care to the places where it is urgently needed: rural, underserved regions. Together with regional stakeholders, municipalities, and health insurers, the innovative triad of nurses/PAs, technology and physicians solves the fundamental problem and also promotes the much needed revaluation of qualified nurses who take on medical tasks in primary care.
